Dear Friends,
Before we begin the update to SPIRIT'S ninth year at St. Paul's, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Felix and I am the web administrator for this website. Mike will be handling all updates after this, so look out for those in the weeks to come. On the note of updates, this is a web update. We are working to create a regular bi-weekly email. If you wish to receive this email, please sign up by entering your email to join our mailing list Anyways, jumping right into the swing of things, we would like to welcome back all returning SPIRIT Attendees from last year, the former Gr. 6's who are now Gr. 7's! Final year before High School, I bet it must be something to look forward to! We would alos like to extend an invitation to all those who are in Gr. 6 this year to come out and join us! Just ask any of the former attendees and they will tell you that SPIRIT is the place to be. NEXT SPIRIT NIGHT: Friday Sept. 19 Fall Kickoff That's right, our annual fall kickoff is here. If you are in Gr. 6 or Gr. 7, we encourage you to come out and check out what SPIRIT is all about. More information of course can be found in the "About page" of this website. It promises to be a fun night of food, fun and games! Bring your friends and come check it out! FOOD: You all tasted the results of our request for food (Gr.7's you know what I'm talking about with the great food we had last year:), it was awesome. However in order to keep that up until the end of the year we could use a few more parents to send food (just once or twice). We have had a few parents sign up to help us supply you with some delicious snacks after SPIRIT Nights (last year), but considering how many of you there are we could use a lot more. Please encourage your parents to help us out. They will only have to send snacks once or twice. Remember, this is for you! If your parents would like to help out you can email me with their name and phone number. Email Mike at saintpaul_spirit@yahoo.ca for more information SPIRIT WEBSITE AND DISCUSSION BOARD: If you haven't already done so, please check us out here in this website for the latest events and happenings both at SPIRIT and at St. Paul's! As well, we are hoping to make good use of the discussion forum this year , so please post and express yourselves! The address is http://spirit.stpaulparish.ca (please make note of the new URL) ONGOING INTENTIONS: As always we'd love to receive your prayer intentions. As a leadership team we are always praying for you and if there is a specific intention that we can pray for, so much the better. Here is our list of intentions for this week (it may not have changed much over the weeks but all of these intentions are very important and worthy of all of our prayers). -For those with Exams and tests, that God may help them do their very best. - For all grade 6s and 7s at St. Paul's, that they may feel God's love and continue to grow in their faith. - For the SPIRIT leadership team, that they may be good leaders and ambassadors of Christ. - For all those taking part in, planning, or coming back from retreats this week, that they may be inspired and kept safe. - For everyone who is graduating this year, that they may make wise decisions and be blessed with the grades they need to move on in their chosen path. - For all those who are sick, that God may comfort and heal them. - For all those taking part in, planning, or coming back from retreats this week, that they may be inspired and kept safe. - For everyone who is graduating this year, that they may make wise decisions and be blessed with the grades they need to move on in their chosen path. - For the homeless, the hungry, and the needy, that we may be generous to them, and that God is with them in their time of need. - For the unborn, that they may remain safe against abortion and have the chance to see the beautiful world God has created for them. Take care and God Bless, Felix On Behalf of the SPIRIT 2008-2009 Leadership Team |
